Senior, Children, Families, Maternity, Newborn, the list goes on

Jerry Byrum
Tel your story, your way.
You are unique, don’t settle for anything less with your Senior photos.
I get asked all the time, “what all do you do and why do I need to hire a professional photographer to take my pictures?”  Read on… It’s funny how the trends have changed since when I was in high school. We never had cell phones with cameras nor did we even consider carrying a camera around back then. Today everyone seems to have a camera of some sort in their possession at all times. I mean, look at Facebook. It’s the #1 photo collecting site on the web. Have you ever noticed what photos have the most interest on FB? I can tell you… it’s the old photos that we find stashed away in a box or the attice that we post which start the best conversations and spark the memories. Think about that for a second. Those are the ones we love to see because they are special, documented times in photographs. Today, there are so many snapshot pictures out there that it’s a challenge for a pro to be relevant. So why should you hire a pro?? It’s simple really.  We don’t just take “pictures” to post on FB, yes we all post some there but that’s our newest marketing tool to reach the masses. We take photographs!! Photographs that will last through generations, photographs that you will hand down to your kids and they’ll do the same with their kids. You can’t do that with phone images or digital images with a point and click camera. Well… you can if you have them printed but who does that?  I don’t know what I’d do if I didn’t have my family history in photographs to show my kids and for them to show their kids.
So what is it that I do? I take archive quality photos of familes, children, babies, seniors and much more, even a preggo belly on occasion. I take the time to hone my craft and fine tune my skills so that your photos aren’t just snapshots, they’re fine art pieces to proudly hang throughout your home.  Don’t miss those important milestones in your life or the lives of your children and loved ones. As time goes on you’ll be glad that you have quality photographs to remind you of every important time in the lives surrounding you.
Thank you for your support,

Meet Keyera, Senior Ambassador in Des Moines

Jerry Byrum

We are excited to announce Keyera, our 2011/2012 Senior Rep for Roosevelt High School in Des Moines. Keyera is a beautiful young lady that we were very excited to work with in creating the photos for her Senior Ambassador material and her upcoming Senior Portraits. She is active in the school and loves cheerleading. She also competes in track and field. We look forward to seeing big things from her in her senior year.

Here are a few photos from her first session…

Beautiful smile!

She's a pro, from one look to the next.

Keyera, stikin a pose

When I said "kick the hip out" she did!

Keyera was such a natural in front of the camera and we had a lot of fun on her shoot. In fact, there were SO MANY great ideas we had for locations and poses, we ran out of time before we got to them all!  Be sure to ask Keyera to see her cards when it comes in! I’m sure she’ll love sharing them with friends and family.

Great photo shoot/party yesterday!

Jerry Byrum
Terri, Matt & thier friends enjoyed a private Pamparazzi Party

Pamparazzi Party and I do mean PARTY. Woo Hooo!

WOW!! All I can say is what a day I had yesterday. I had the privelage of taking photos of a group of friends as they rally around one of their best friends during a tough time. I like to give a huge thank you to Gordan and Deb for hosting this amazing party. Without you guys yesterday may not have happened.  Thank you also to Jim, Michelle, Brent & Cassandra for coming to show your support and making the day fun for all of us, myself included. What a tremendous show of support and caring and I”m glad that I could be a part of it.

Terri and Matt, what a wonderful, loving couple. You have no idea how it made me feel to hear you two tell each other how much you cared for each other and to see the love between you, I was truly touched!

Terri, I can’t begin to tell you what this experience has done for me personally. The minute I walked into the event in Feb., seeing all the people gathered around to support you, I knew you were someone special. I feel so fortunate to have had the opportunity to meet you that night and to spend time with you, Matt and your friends yesterday. You all have touched my life in ways that I didn’t expect and I thank you for that!

So do we go on 3 or is it 3 then go?

Thank you!!

I’ve decided to start blogging and I don’t really know what I’m doing.

Jerry Byrum

I decided today that the best way to talk about what I’m doing in the photo biz is to blog it, join the rest of the world and hopefully engage the masses as we discuss photos and other “stuff”.  Anyone who knows me already understands that I’m not a writer, most times I can’t even talk well, let alone write about it. Don’t ever expect me to be grammatically correct or have proper punctuation. I do however, pride myself on knowing the differences between to, two and too but I make no guarantees when it comes to affect and effect. All I know is that one is a verb but I couldn’t tell you which one, rest assured that I’ll attempt to be correct 100% of the time but can’t promise any more than a 50% success rate. So, thanks for joining me and I hope that you feel compelled to participate in conversations, talk about photos or share ideas and FRIENDLY criticism.

Thanks for you continued support!
